The Harris Homestead is lovingly tended by Earl and Roe Harris — a farm worked by our hands, but ultimately owned by God.
Our journey began in DeLand, Florida in 2008, as we started making intentional changes in how we lived, what we ate, and the products we used. That shift in lifestyle led us to seek a simpler, more connected way of life.
In 2014, we were guided to a 5-acre homestead in Sumterville, Florida, where our days were filled with the care of cows, pigs, chickens, and goats. It was during this season that a woman with a beautiful soul entered our lives. She generously shared her wisdom in goat care and soap making, gifting us recipes perfected over decades in Ohio’s Amish Country — a treasure we still use today.
By 2019, our hearts were pulled again — this time to North Florida, where we could move further from the chaos and closer to what matters most: our faith, our family, and our farm.
The years 2021 and 2022 brought both joy and challenges. We welcomed our precious grandchildren — Raechel, Vivian, Peter, and Paul — and joyfully stepped back from the business to soak in that time with family. Then came a season of trial, as Earl faced a cancer diagnosis. But by God's grace, he is now in remission, and in 2023, with renewed strength and encouragement from loyal customers, we returned to crafting our signature Goat Milk Soaps, made in small batches using only the finest oils and nutrient-rich goat milk.
In the summer of 2024, a new chapter unfolded. While visiting Serenity Acres Farm to purchase goats for our dairy herd, God opened a door we never expected — the opportunity to acquire the Serenity Acres Soap and Skincare business. One by one, He cleared the path to make it happen.
Today, Harris Homestead FL proudly provides the goat milk for Serenity Acres Soap and Skincare, including milk from our own herd and goats from Serenity Acres. Our farm continues to grow with purpose and passion. We now offer tours so you can come behind the gates and see what is Harris Homestead of FL
